My good sista, Rikyrah, has alerted Skeptical Brotha to a new developement with America’s favorite Corporate Whore, former Tennessee Congressman Harold Ford, Jr. He seems to be angling for a new a new position practicing the world’s oldest profession at the Democratic Leadership Council, the corporate protection arm of the Democratic Party. How nice. I thought the whore would have found a more lucrative John to ride in the downtime between Senate runs. Well, no matter, it seems that the media generated sympathy machine for his close loss has the entire right-wing of the party at his beck and call. The ink is not dry on the deal and they might be able to dig up another, more acceptable white hack to drive their corporate agenda. I’ll be paying attention to see what else develops.
I had suspected this but I hadn’t heard anything concrete for a long time. I think it’s a mistake for his career to be stuck in perpetual pissing contests with progressive leadership over the next several years when he needs to be making friends in TN, or at least angling for a cabinet position in whomever’s cabinet in 08.
Al From is a whiner (I had something a little more street there but well you know I know people). Outside of Clinton his candidates never win jack and Clinton wasn’t really his candidate. Alinging yourself with him helps no one unless your name is Lieberman and you also have the good graces of Bush.

Great post, and great news. Junior doesn’t give a hot damn about Tennessee, if he did, he’d still be the Memphis congressman. We got awful representation from him over the last ten years, and I have no reason to believe that he’s going to treat the DLC any different. This is great news for progressives, Junior will now ride Calitol Hillary’s back all the way into obscurity.
Speaking of riding backs, Junior will never run for elected office again, mark my words. The two-faced punk is damn lucky that the “Call me, Harold” ad that was supposed to be so racist featured a Playboy bunny instead of a Chippendale’s dancer. If he runs again, he will be outed and he knows it.

I see the DLC following catch up with the Repubs-yet again, even though they don’t seem to have noticed that America tired of our government trying to play holier than though with the Religion in Government game. Ford has publicly stated he would like to bring Religion in to government, which of course, is NOT the separation of Church and State as our democratic government was formed.
I think these folks are way too close to the edge..

And if his Senate race didn’t get him; the responsibility for raising money for the DLC, pimping their tired ideals that didn’t even win Clinton the White House. Someone wrote that DC will build a person up, just to tear them down, and I guess Harold’s getting the same treatment.
He’s too arrogant to try and build bridges with those who’s going to be running thangs for the next two years, and watch how fast he gets turned into a scapegoat for everything that the DLC screws up, especially if it mucks up a White House run for Capitol Hillary…
