Jacqueline Jackson cuts endorsement ad for Hillary Clinton

South Carolina Hotline is reporting that Mrs. Jacqueline Jackson, independent of her husband and son, has endorsed Senator Hillary Clinton and has cut a Radio ad for her. The text of the ad is below:

JACKSON: This is Jacqueline Jackson. My husband, Rev. Jesse Jackson, is a native of South Carolina. Let me tell you why I decided to support Hillary Clinton for President. As a mother and a grandmother, I know that raising children begins and ends at home. It begins with a loving family that builds esteem. It ends with a woman’ touch that inspires children to make their dreams a reality. That’s why this election is so important. It is also why I believe Hillary Clinton is by far the most qualified candidate to be President in these tough times. Hillary believes that the way we treat our children reflects our nation’s values. For 35 years, Hillary has fought for families. As first lady, she fought for universal health care and fought just as hard to pass the State Children’s Health Insurance Program. Women are used to making difficult choices, but this is easy because it’s about what’s best for our families. Join me in supporting Hillary Clinton.

Sometimes, I think a lot of Black people want to show others so badly that we’re not a monolithic group, that they do things for that reason and that reason only. What association has there ever been shown between Mrs. Jackson and Clinton? The bigger question may be, how much money exchanged hands? Maybe, she really thinks Hillary is the better candidate, and I should respect that. However, it sure smells fishy, in wake of the last few days and the momentum Obama has garnered. Anyway, most people don’t realize there is a Mrs. Jackson, in political terms that is, so the bump or lack there of will be interesting to see.

The general reverence I have for Rev. Jackson extends to Mrs. Jackson as well, but in my opinion, this endorsement is ill-timed and ill-advised. Nevertheless, it will be used over the coming days and weeks to brainwash blackfolks to vote for Hillary. For the weak-minded, it might be just enough.

Okay, SB, haven’t you seen a woman scorned? Jacqueline Jackson has taken a whole lot of shyt off Jesse’s cheating behind for over 40 years - consider her motivation for doing that ad.

She backs Jesse into a corner - he either endorses Obama and publicly demonstrates that the Jacksons are split, or he joins in and supports Hillary against Obama, which won’t sit well with a whole lot of Black folk.

I’m thinking there’s a motive behind her doing this, rather than actually supporting the Borg Queen, is all.

Why should the entire family back Hillary? I bet ther are several black families out there in which some members are backing Obama, and some members are backing Obama. i know in my own family we were pro HILLARY until OBAMA entered the race. Anyhoo, why all of the Hillary animosity?

I am not impressed with Mrs J’s endorsement of Hillary. I will respect her right to do so. I love and respect Maya Angelou and she has endorsed Hillary also.

It is no secret that we are going to be divided in many different ways. There is a lot of choices that we can select from, for a lot of different reasons.

How much impact Mrs.J’s endorsement will have on getting the vote out for the Hillary camp remains to be seen.

Jacqueline Jackson and Hillary Clinton are married to hoes. The only difference is that Bill Clinton didn’t leave any walking evidence of cheating (i. e. a baby) and Jesse did.

I still think she would have joined the rest of her family in Obama’s camp had it not been for Jesse cheating on her and finally having a way to embarass Jesse if not extracting outright payback for his indiscretions.

Don’t you see that there are common issues that unite all women–that the gender divide is what we are talking about when we see growing numbers of women, black, white ,yellow and brown step up to support Hillary?

Her personal relationship with the Clintons and their common experience as women–That’s what is motivating Jacqueline. She is a woman and as a woman who came of age during a time when we were severely discriminated against in the labor market and in personal relationships with men, Jacqueline probably feels very strongly that she has to support Hillary–FOR HER OWN DIGNITY AND SELF-RESPECT.

So, please stop all the speculation about how she’s getting back at Jesse or that Black people want to show others that “we’re not a monolithic group,” etc. Why not just honor Jacqueline and take it for what it is–an expression of her personal affection for Hillary and their united stance as women who care about women’s and children’s issues?

NOT EVERYTHING IS RACIAL, YOU KNOW. People do develop genuine personal relationships across racial lines AND may unite over other commonalities other than race!

I spoke with two 80 something year old women the other day (one black one white) and they both said they were very eager to cast their vote for Hillary because they want to see a woman in the “highest office of the land” before they die! That’s how strong the pro-Hillary feelings are among many women.

So, stop demeaning Jacqueline Jackson’s decision to step up and speak from her heart. There are lots of people (especially women), white, black or any color who support Hillary because they want to raise the status of the female gender.

Understand that gender discrimination in the labor market and in personal relationships has been very devastating to women. In fact, women with the same educational levels as men generally earn 80 cents to every dollar earned by men EVEN TODAY AND THIS CUTS ACROSS RACIAL LINES!

Did you people see the guys who were carrying signs at one of Hillary’s rallies, saying “Iron My Shirt.” ?

This is so sad that Women(Black) will allow this election to bring them out of the closet for all the mess that their husbands has been doing. I think Jesse Jackson wife is too late to want to come out of the closet. She need to take herself back in her kitchen or wherever she has been all these years, all these struggles, and leave Hillary to wash Old Bill face with her campaign by herslef. What have Mrs. Jackson ever done for African Americans and now she wants to Campaign for Hillary Clinton. If these women learn to take care home, maybe their husbands would not be playing around. I am a woman and a virteous woman at that. Shame on you Mrs. Jackson. You are a disagrace to African Americans. I don’t understand our struggle, and here we are with an African America right at the door of History and we run to the very race that has kept us captive. Make up your minds. If Bush could be President, why not give Obama a chance. my God! This is nothing personal towards White people but african americans need to make up their minds, we either do it now or never! When will we have another qualified African American to put our race this close in history, rather he be your choice or not, lets get in the House! Get the door open, shoot!

Jacqueline Jackson’s endorsement simply says that the Jackson family will not put their eggs in one basket. They feel that they’d better keep it where they can swing in and out of the White House at will.

She does share experiences with Hillary. Both women have been humiliated publically & both are enablers.

This endorsement is about as meaningful as an endorsement from Strom Thurmond.

PS Isn’t it time for us to gear up our black community boycott for the behavior of the black leadership during this campaign. Let’s begin by organizing and wait to hit them after the election so not to distract from the campaign of both Barack and Hillary.

I stand tall with the support of Senator Hillary R. Clinton. I believe she has the experience, and the voice of a new “change”! Sen. Hillary has been in polictics for 35 years. We knew nothing of Obama until he was elected Sen. of Illinois. I personally believe Sen. Hillary is our best choice. I have no problem with that which Bill Clinton said during the SC campaign. I understood what he meant. I did not see it as a “racial” comment! I am 63 years of age with a “level” degree of intelligence. I’m going to say this….Just because Obama is a afro-american man does not mean he would be a wise choice to lead this great America country.(don’t hate)
