The Christmas Song, an Iraq christmas carol

The Christmas Song

Donald Rumsfeld’s chestnuts roasting on an open fire
Sour public opinion on Iraq nipping at Bush Admin Ass
Yuletide criticism being sung by a Media choir
And poor servicemen dressed up like Eskimos

Everybody knows a civil war and a quagmire
Don’t help to make the season bright
Iraqi tots with their eyes all aglow (with U.S. depleted uranium)
Will find it hard to sleep tonight

They know that new secdef Bob Gates is on his way
He’s loaded with the Iraq Study Group report on his sleigh
And every mother’s soldier is gonna spy
To see if the bastard really knows how to fly

And so I’m offering this simple phrase
For soldiers on deployments from one to ninety two
Although its been said many times, many ways, you’re stuck in Iraq
Merry Christmas to you

And so I’m offering this simple phrase

    Now this one was funny.

But these lines are sort of sad, because we know it’s not that far from the truth:

” For soldiers on deployments from one to ninety two
Although its been said many times, many ways, you’re stuck in Iraq”

I pray everyday for the soldiers. Brave young men and women who have been sent to die for a vision by a bunch of crazy neo-cons.

Crazy’s too kind a word for them.

It’s hard to not call them evil sociopaths with no conscience.

    Ooops, I just did.

  2. Rikyrah,

My brotha was deployed in Afganistan so I know a little something about War related anxiety. It is actually devastating for military families to see how incomprehensible Dubya’s denial is.

    SB,

    Do you watch Joe Scarborough?

Sometimes, he gets on my nerves. Other times, he’s watchable. He’s been pretty watchable as he’s been discussing the Bush lunacy every night for the past 2 weeks, heck, since before the election.

I feel we’re in a nightmare. Dubya has always been off, but the man is, well, even scarier than usual, which is saying something.

He’s not listening to the Joint Chiefs. And, they aren’t even pretending to cover for him, or suffer in silence, which scares me even more.

  4. Rikyrah,
Yes, I do watch him on the regular. Scarborough has a bit of integrity, not too much though. He may not always agree with the Fox News talking points, but he will always spout them to throw redmeat to the base and keep his ratings up.
